The Nostrum ESSIM has gone universal! You can now monitor Ethanol content, fuel pressure* and fuel temperature on ANY gasoline powered vehicle!
The universal kit comes with the ESSIM module itself, a universal output harness, and a universal power wiring harness to get you started! Both of the included harnesses are intended for custom DIY installs and come with unterminated bare wire ends, so wiring will be required.
The power harness has 2 connections, a switched power and a ground connection that will power the ESSIM directly. There is plenty of length to give you plenty of freedom as to where and how you power your ESSIM.
The output harness gives you plenty of freedom in how you receive and view your data. With 0-5v analog, PWM, and CAN outputs that can all be used independently and simultaneously, the options are nearly limitless!
From there, you have a couple options depending on your needs:
For the DIY’er: The ESSIM will not function without an ethanol content sensor, so if you don’t already have an ethanol sensor, this is what you want!
Select the Universal Ethanol Content Package (ESSIMDIYKIT) and you will also receive a Genuine Continental SE1004 Ethanol Content sensor, a mounting bracket and our plug-and-play “Long” Universal Ethanol Sensor harness! This give you plenty of freedom to mount the sensor and ESSIM module wherever you would like!
For those with OEM Flex Fuel: If your vehicle is already equipped with an ethanol content sensor, like a lot of GM Flex Fuel vehicles, all you need is an ESSIM Install kit for OEM Flex Fuel Vehicles (E417-1494) to plug the ESIMM into the factory sensor!
Fuel Pressure Add-on: Did you know the ESSIM can also monitor low side fuel pressure? All you need is the Nostrum Fuel Pressure sensor kit (ESSIMFPKIT) using the included Fuel Pressure sensor harness and plug it in to your ESSIM!
Want it all? The Ultimate ESSIM "Works" package (ESSIMWORKS) includes everything you could possibly need to get the most functionality out of your ESSIM, including the complete Ethanol Sensor install kit and the Fuel pressure install kit!
